Open to builder, remodeler and associate members, following are the Outdoor Living Awards along with judging criteria.
1. Best Covered & Unconditioned Outdoor Living Space
- Judging Criteria: Creative approach, aesthetic appeal, sensitivity to existing structure and elements, and functional value.
- Examples: Three-season room, screen porch
2. Best Use of Hardscaping (NEW for 2024!)
Two categories based on price point: under $50,000; $50,000+
- Judging Criteria: Creative approach, aesthetic appeal, structural elements and functional value.
- Examples: Pavers, decking, retaining walls
3. Best Curb Appeal
- Judging criteria: Land planning (plantings, driveway, walkways), materials used (variety, style, scale & balance), architectural elements, creative approach, consumer appeal.
4. Best Overall Outdoor Living Space
Four categories based on price point: Under $75,000; $75,000-$149,999; $150,000-$299,999; $300,000+
- Judging Criteria: Creative approach, aesthetic appeal, sensitivity to existing structure and elements, and functional value.
5. Most Creative Outdoor Feature (NEW for 2024!)
- Judging Criteria: Creative approach, uniqueness, innovation, perceived value and marketability.
